Souvlaki, gyros, moussaka, spanakopita, Greek salad and baklava. Fresh seafood in Piraeus is excellent.

Safety Tips

Generally safe. Be aware of pickpockets around Monastiraki and Omonia Square. Stray dogs are friendly but numerous.

Cultural Etiquette

Greeks are very hospitable. 'Opa!' is for celebrations, not everyday use. Tipping 5–10% is appreciated. Avoid pointing with one finger.
