Overview

The perfect combination to discover Amsterdam, also known as the Venice of the North. Begin your journey with a guided walking tour through the historic city center, and then enjoy a canal cruise with a delicious cheese tasting paired with wine, beer, or soft drinks (depending on the package chosen).

This experience offers a unique perspective of the city, blending history with pure entertainment in a lively and engaging way. The walking tour covers the main highlights of the old town, while the canal cruise takes you through the city’s most iconic waterways, the Amstel River, and the scenic passage under the Seven Bridges – one of Amsterdam’s most photogenic spots.

With the guidance of a local expert, you’ll hear fascinating stories rarely found in guidebooks: from the city’s beginnings as a small fishing village on the Amstel, to the intriguing history of legalized prostitution and drug decriminalization, as well as the darker chapters of Nazi occupation. All presented in a fun and insightful way to give you the perfect introduction to Amsterdam.

After the walking tour, you will receive the tickets for the boat cruise by email, sent either the day before or on the same day of the activity. Please note that the walking tour voucher is not valid for the cruise. The boat cruise usually starts 30–45 minutes after the walking tour, depending on the cruise company’s availability.

To top it all off, the canal cruise will let you soak in the city’s atmosphere while enjoying a selection of local cheeses, perfectly paired with your drink of choice. A must-do experience to discover Amsterdam both on foot and from the water.
