Overview
Garden Teahouse's striking surroundings make ours one of the most beautiful locations to experience tea ceremony in Kyoto.
The traditional Japanese house, which sits amongst stunning gardens, is over 100 years old.
We are located a minute’s walk from the main gate of Ryoan-ji, one of Kyoto’s most popular destinations. The Zen temple is famed for its rock garden, possibly the most renowned of its kind in the world.

Personal Tea Ceremony Experience
616-8003 KyotoMatcha, sweets and everything you need to make tea are provided during the experience.
Pickups and drop-offs.
Kimono dressing and rental is not provided.
You do not need to bring anything for your experience, we will take care of everything.
- We have chairs and tables available for guests that find it difficult to sit on the floor.
- All our sweets are gluten and nut free, and vegan.
- You can take photos throughout the experience, but please turn the flash off.
- Please get in touch if you have any special requests or requirements.
- Guides and translators are welcome to join in the tea ceremony as an additional guest (free of charge).
- There is a toilet available to guests.
